Letter from the Guest Editor

Tyler Campbell

__________

I grew up obsessed with speculative fiction. From the worlds of Tolkien, Martin, Hobb and others, I learned more about difference and a wider world than I ever could from the reality of living in small town Alabama. These stories captivated me, but more importantly, inspired me, developed my imagination, and expanded my perspective on human experience. Which is why I think speculative fictions are essential to a well-rounded literary journey.

This is my first issue as the sole managing editor for Boudin, and I think the issue turned out amazing. These stories and poems take us out there, developing worlds that look very different from our own while still having something important to say to us. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did.

Thank you to everyone who was (and still is) working to make our magazine a quality publication where our contributors feel like their work is appreciated. Let’s keep up the good work!
